The present study aimed to explore the relationship between emotional wellbeing and everyday cognitive lapses in young adults. It also explored whether there are differences between genders in these variables. Young adulthood is a time when you have to deal with a lot of things like academic, occupational, emotions and social stuff that can affect both emotional wellbeing and cognitive functioning. Previous studies have shown that emotional wellbeing is very important for attention and cognitive performance. But there is a lack of research on this relationship among young adults in India. A quantitative research design was employed, using the WHO-5 Well-Being Index and the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire 2.0. Data was collected from 204 adults who were between 18-30 years old from different gender groups. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product moment correlation and Welch’s one-way ANOVA were used for the data analysis. A moderate negative link between Emotional Wellbeing and Everyday Cognitive Lapses was revealed. It means that Young Adults with higher Emotional Wellbeing experience fewer Everyday Cognitive Lapses. The study did not find any Gender Differences in Emotional Wellbeing or Everyday Cognitive Lapses among Young Adults. These findings highlight how crucial Emotional Wellbeing is for Everyday Cognitive Functioning in daily life. This adds new information to the limited literature in India.
